The competition “Lekov Scolarship” continues with full strength – the candidates who submitted documents to participate in it were exactly 21.
At the end of June, the deadline for applying for the competition has expired. This competition will give a chance to total of five people, namely: one place with a scholarship of the amount of 50% of the fee and four places of the amount of 25% of the fee, respectively, for the Master Degree Program of Innovations, Finances and Entrepreneurship.
The Program is in collaboration with The Higher School of Insurance and Finances (VUZF) and the team of The Business Institute, a regional representative of The Institute for Entrepreneurs of Cisco.
The patron of the competition is Lubomir Lekov, the founder and a manager of the media group “Investor.BG”. He organized the initiative by the Project S.K.I.L.L.S. – a new initiative of “Lekovi Foundation” in support of starting-up entrepreneurs.
Twelve of the candidates for the scholarship program are men and almost all submitted documents (with the exception of three) already have a business idea, that they want to develop, and some even have more than one idea!
Eleven of all candidates especially point out that the mentoring for them is a major reason to apply for the competition.
More than a half of the candidates (13 people) have a professional experience for more than 5 years. On the other hand, the candidates have different backgrounds – most of them are economists but there are people educated in scientific disciplines, such as physicists and chemists.
Lubomir Lekov is the patron of the competition in which five people will receive a scholarship for Master degree.
Besides the five scholarships, the winners will receive a support and personal engagement for mentoring by Lubomir Lekov – once a month for the entire period of education in the Master’s program, which continues a year and a half.
One of the five candidates, who presents excellently the development of his business idea, will also receive the support for its implementation at the end of education – a personal engagement by Lubomir Lekov, specifically to ensure contacts with potential investors, as well as providing him a strategic support for the business, the winner wants to develop.
At the moment, people applying for the scholarship are at the second stage of the application, as they should solve a specific business case. Finally, the selected candidates will have a personal interview with Lubomir Lekov.
The five finalists will be announced on the 1st of August, 2014.
